I've been searching for videos of kids working on the SDGsThey're hard to find! I began asking myself why that is, how that can be?
There's so many people talking about them, but the word's not getting out? Yet when I look at the UN web site I find a section devoted to helping teachers with lessons. Is the problem that teachers don't care, or that they're overworked or expected to follow a plan? The club says that time must be made in our schools to bring empathy back into our society. The only place we can begin is through childrens minds and to reach them we must talk and lead by example. The combination of money and ever increasing speed humanity hurls itself into the future brings us closer and closer, ever nearer the scenes you've seen only in the movies or in your worst nightmares, and none of you can stop. Money and technology will only buy us so much time, even if climate change doesn't strike, our world is moving into a very hard time in it's relationship with humans. Do we really think we can beat Mother Nature? We must prepare our children, teach them to find solutions to today's dilemmas, because they grow daily. This all leads me back to teachers! We need you to help! This can not wait any longer, we can't just give up and say the SDGs were only talk, no action behind them. We, teachers, parents, extended family, friends, children and and our club must change the paradigm. If we can reach children they'll reach parents and if we reach them we reach the rest. The club stands behind you and is here to broadcast your story and to help you find the help you need, but the next step is yours! We need you to fill those imaginations with food for thought! We end this today with a few words for the young, we need you to help. Humankind depends on you to save us from Mother Nature!
